Participants will observe a demonstration of “dirty pours” utilizing various flow mediums which produce differing results followed by aid in color selection and choice of flow medium for the artists own take home piece. Further discussion will encompass tilting techniques, cup positioning and heat gun application to achieve “cells”. A worksheet will be distributed with terms and definitions to aid in retention of theory.

Coffee, tea and chocolate will be provided!

ABOUT THE ARTIST: Melissa has been creating art most of her life in some form or another. She has had both formal and informal training in a variety of mediums including, but not limited to, painting in oils and acrylics, drawing in inks, charcoal, pencil, chalks, and oil pastels.

Melissa’s strengths are incorporating intuitive color application with a hint of the unexpected. She encourages others to experiment with non traditional approaches to achieve new levels of creative expression.

NOTE: Please bring aprons and latex gloves if desired. Items will need to be left to dry overnight. The Coop will be open for you to drop in and pick up your finished projects during a time-frame the following day. Projects may also be picked up during any Open Studio.
